Filter sand getting in pool..please help!

We are newbies....above ground pool was installed the other day. When we turn the filter on, filter sand ends up in the pool.

What could be wrong?

Any suggestions about what to look at , or how to fix?

It sounds like the filter is either defective or installed wrong. The most common issue would be broken or improperly installed laterals (which are buried in the sand). But if any of several other internal components are broken you could see the same effect.
