one more thing now, with the new filter I am observing less pressure from the In ground pop up head cleaners and also the psi is 18, what could be the reason for this ? Because this is a new filter, the pool guy had to do re-plumbing, I am guessing there could be a issue there..
I am suspecting the water from Pump to the Inlet of filter might not be flowing at full rate, please see attached picture of new plumbing, the inlet pipe is on the top...

Part of the issue is that you went from a 700 ft² filter to a 425 ft² filter, so the pressure drop is going to be greater and thusly the flow is going to be less.

That's not the pump, that's just the model of the motor. It really tells you nothing about your pump. In order to look at the head curve we need the pump model.
Thats the motor......there should be a tag on the pump(the piece of plastic you see the water in)with the model #
Go ahead and change your signature to the Northstar SP4010NS. That will help in the future.

So the filter artery up about 10' of head. That's about what I'd suspect.

The problem is the smaller filter. It has a higher head loss than the larger one you had.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions, this misery is not ending.... Are there any side effects of low psi... if I buy a pool vacuum then do you think it will be OK even though I the pop up heads do not run at full pressure...Bama Rambler said:

One more trouble 
the pop up heads are not rotating properly, I only see the pop up heads on the right side which are closer to pump working, and not the remaining ones on the left, I opened the cleaning system box, please see attached pics...comments appreciated,,the last pic is the inside of closing lid...

The gear just under the impeller in photo 13 looks pretty badly worn to me. I'd say it's time for a new gear set.
