Newbie problems

Hi all

Another newbie here, recently purchased a 8ft bestway pool and my floating dispenser and tablets arrived with no instruction on what to do.

Can any help me with

: how many tablets to put in dispenser?
: how long does it stay in water for?
: how long after using for the first time can I swim?

Welcome to TFP.

If you can tell us more about the floater (i.e. brand, size, etc.) we can probably be more help.
Generically you should be able to fill it all the way and then adjust the output upon testing the chlorine in the water.
You can swim as soon as there is some FC in the water and the pH is between 7.2 & 7.8.

Do you have a tester? If so what does it test?
You need at very least chlorine and pH.

Your general location would be nice to know as well. Bestway usually means you're in Europe.

The floater takes Small 20g Chlorine tablets.my tester etc should be arriving tomorrow.

I live in the uk

I'd fill it up and float it. What are you doing on here? Get out there and go swimming!

Might start it off with a bit of bleach to begin with to get the FC up around 4 to 5.

What are the active ingredients in the floater tabs?

I understand chlorine but what actual chemical. It will make a difference in our recommendations about how many you should use. Liquid chlorine (laundry bleach) is frequently a better chlorine source for small pools.
