Can the DE Filter Hold the 3hp?

I'm upgrading from a 1.5hp Hayward Super Pump to the Hayward Eco Star (up to 3hp).

I will be keeping my Hayward DE3620 Filter.

Now, will there be any problem when the 3hp motor runs at max rpm hence, pushing double the power the filter handles at the moment?

Will the filter hold?

The hp doesn't really tell you what you want to know. It really has nothing to do with how much pressure it produces.
You need to know the maximum pressure it can produce. According to the website the cutoff is about 80 ft of head (35 psi). I suspect the max is about 100 ft of head (44 psi) so the filter will be fine with it.

If there were any danger of it overpressuring any normal pool equipment they would have warnings all over it.
