pH and SLAM question

Almost done SLAMing the pool...before I started the SLAM pH was 7.3.

I tested my pH today and it was at 8.2, FC was 28, CC 0...

I realize that you cannot get an accurate reading with the test kits at such a high FC, but I work in a water laboratory and have some equipment that allows.

My question is this. Should I add acid during the SLAM, getting it back down to approx. 7.5, or am I better off waiting until the SLAM is done?

Will my pH lower as the FC decreases toward the target of 8, or will I have to help it out?

Until your FC is below 10, your pH reading cannot be trusted. Wait until it falls below 10 and test. Then you can adjust accordingly.
