Stuck between DIY or builder been researching for 2 years now. Budget is $30k looking to get the following equipment.

1.5 pentair challenger
2hp pentair challenger
Goldine control ps4 with wireless remote
Polaris 280 w/booster
Salt cell
Pentair 5g intellibrite
Four deck jets and 2 bubblers on tanning deck
White plaster
3ft kooldeck around pool
Swim clear cartridge filter
Basic tile from NPT no coping kooldeck there.
450sqft lagoon.

Plase give me thoughts r concerns. Is my budget realstic for what I want?

Not realistic to do a gunite pool basically at all in my neck of the woods for 30k. It's all location dependent, much more likely in Florida or Arizona where they have high volume.

Maybe if you DYI, but even that is really pushing it. No way with a builder IMO. Sorry to say it, but that is a 45-50k pool here easy, with no frills. I've been researching a while myself, but you would have to be the GC or really DIY to get it down to 30K. What I am finding out, is how difficult it is to get the right contractors to do it. There is more pool work here than builders can keep up with.

How many lights would u guys go with in a 450sqft lagoon design? Will one 5g intellibrite be good enough?

I'm in the design phase of my DIY pool in Phoenix. I would get as many lights as possible so I would recommend getting 2 LEDs. PM me if you want a name of a company here that you can get really great prices on equipment.

Mine is 16.5x33 and wish I had 2 LED lights. 1 is just not enough.
