help with sealing gunite

Hello I have a 20 year old pool and spa made of gunite. The spa needs some patching. The patching material is not an exact match of the gunite so I was thinking of staining or something to blend it in. I want to avoid painting it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You can add masonry dye to get the patch material to match the existing plaster. Wet the existing plaster to do the color match. It is a plastered pool, correct?
