First pool. Summer Escapes 18' by 42". Filled and running for almost two weeks. Water tests are fine. The pump (under the strainer basket on this model) was always loud. Now it's getting worse. Crazy loud even with new filter. I checked for obstructions and didn't see any. Pump is more quiet with the strainer removed. The water flow is a bit lower too. Worried it was going out, a friend gave me an intex (1000gph) which I am running over the pool rails. Any suggestions? Tried calling company yesterday and was on hold for 45 minutes before giving up. Thinking about getting another Intex filter-- and unplugging the SE filter.. But leaving it in place so the fittings will need no adjustments.

There are a few pictures here of other pumps being attached to the Summer Escape pump.
Took SE filter off. Removed impeller. Attached Intex 2500 filter. Used the new hoses. Conversion kits not necessary. The new pump is running through the old. Working great.
Now you need to get a better filter cartridge. The Unicel C-5315 is a good choice to replace the Intex "B" cartridge.
