We are supposed to get thunderstorms tonight. The pool is set up and filter is going. Should I test water now or after the storm? My plan is to routinely check the water in the evenings. I have not put anything in the water yet wasn't sure what to do with this pending storm, if it even comes... The solar cover hasn't arrived yet.

Test it now, and start getting chlorine in it. Are you following this pool school article?: http://www.troublefreepool.com/pool-school/temporary_pool_guide

I am following it. I poured the dichlor in earlier. The TA was very low but PH was in range. One thing I did not buy was baking soda. Should I pour it in tomorrow morning after buying it or retest tomorrow night and see if I need it?
