We put in our 16x32 vinyl liner pool last August/September, so this is our first full season. I'm using a Taylor K-2006 kit.
After fighting through my pool being cloudy most of the time the first three weeks it was open, it has now been clear for over a week. I brought my TA down from 200 to 110 using acid and aeration and my CYA up to around 30 or 40 using Trichlor pucks plus more stabilizer in the skimmer. The first few weeks the FC would go from 6 or 7ppm to zero in one day and then cloud up. The last four days, my FC has dropped steadily from where I was shocking (12ppm) without any additional sanitizer and is now at 5.5. I plan on only using the Trichlor pucks now when we are out of town or if my CYA drops. As of last week, I have also started adding 1/2 C. of DE to my sand filter after backwashes.
My numbers as of this morning:
FC 6.5 CC <.5 TA 110 CA 320 PH 7.5 CYA 30 to 40
