Hello,

a 2nd year pool owner here and I am working through my first SLAM. Just about there.

I have a question, will my 'clear' solar cover block the sun from the chlorine?

I have a 12 mil clear cover and still lose FC to the sun. But not as much as if it is off.

I was not sure but wanted to ask.

I am nearing the end of my SLAM, hoping by Saturday morning being able to bring the FC down to 'regular' levels. I will just take the cover off and add some water to help drop it.

You don't need to add water to drop the FC levels. It will drop on its own in the sunlight during the day. Anything below shock level is safe for swimming.

Just a note, generally it is better to do the SLAM process with the cover off.
