Hello everyone, long time reader, first post. Well we're moving along here. Dig began June 29 on a concrete vinyl lined 16x28 with single roman end. Walls have been poured, pad poured, and plumbing has begun. Jandy cl460, vs flopro, jandy Lxi 400nn heater and autopilot swg. Thanks to the community for the guidance.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1373825895.082431.jpg[/attachment:27twf21t]ImageUploadedByTapatalk1373825944.106418.jpg[/attachment:27twf21t]

I like the looks of your pool and the build so far. You're going to love it!

Have you purchased your test kit yet? I prefer the TF-100. This kit is what's going to save you TONS of money and aggravation because YOU will be in control of your pool water and not dependent on pool stores or cheap strips which are notoriously inaccurate. Get your test kit ordered so you'll be ready to go once the pool is filled. Link to how to order can be found under the "Pool School" button on the top right corner of your screen.

Oh yeah- keep those pictures coming! For some reason, even though we all have pools, a lot of us still get goofy-happy watching folks build theirs.

Yes, I plan on ordering test kit shortly, and yes I will keep posting pics. I'm very happy with the steps, seeing them installed really outdoos the drawings for sure.... Didn't expect them to be so big and inviting, aesthetically pleasing

Plumbing 99% complete.

How true that is, as a long time observer and first time poster you know that, right? Pictures are always welcome. More the meerrier!

True indeed...We decided to do it and are planning on a new pool by next spring. I too am highly fascinated by all the build threads.

Don't forget, if you see something, say something. There's nothing I can do once everything's buried and the pipers been paid. I promise, I won't be offended. All electric is complete and liner being installed some time this week.

i just sent you a PM.

Thinking of options for bottom, was gonna go with vermiculite but read that can still get footprints. Probly going with dry pack, Portland sand mix with the blue foam over the entire floor... Pros cons anyone can think ofImageUploadedByTapatalk1374516530.866330.jpg[/attachment:1uumvkt1]ImageUploadedByTapatalk1374516555.166608.jpg[/attachment:1uumvkt1]

The floor is only 3-4 inches of dry pack with no rebar. You technically can plaster it but I don't think it would last due to premature cracking. But if it were poured with rebar I wouldn't see any reason I couldn't plaster it. I'm sure that's how it was done in the past.

1/4 inch foam walls and bottom.... Glued and gorilla taped seams.
