Finally got around to opening up the DE filter to get it cleaned out (I think the prior owners never cleaned it) and low and behold 5 of the 8 grids are broken. I know I need to replace them, the question I have is what is the impact of putting bum grids back in? I don't have the patience to deal with Leslies and am going to order them ... sometime in the next month ... from poolsupplyworld.

Well, broken grids mean that your pool will have DE pumped into it when the pump is on since there is nothing stopping it from happening. This may mean a lot or a little bit of DE in your water, but you'll never be able to get it as clean as you could.

No holes in the grid fabric. Just broken grid plastic at the bottoms. Ranging from 3-8 inches at the corners.ImageUploadedByTapatalk 21373743822.963891.jpg[/attachment:3m4ozcf4]ImageUploadedByTapatalk 21373743848.714328.jpg[/attachment:3m4ozcf4]

Thanks. Practicing POP while I refill. Left it on backwash a bit too long.
