Prepping for hard plumbing

I am right now at the stage of gathering parts for my hard plumb project, and need a little info.

I'm planning on having a through wall skimmer, and would like to have an additional suction fitting with valve for vacuuming. Would this be the same fitting used for the returns, or is there a special one needed for this?

I would just make sure however you are planning on vacuuming that the plumbing that you will have in that old Intex intake position will fit the equipment you plan to use. Of course a nice PVC valve to control it all is mandatory too.
