Compupool CPSC48 longer cell cord

About to install my CPSC48.
I ordered the 15 foot cell cord with it, since the 6 footer is far too short for my install.

The 15 foot cord came separate.
I figured, no biggie, turn a few screws and attach the longer call cable.

Welp, the cell cord is soldered to the system board.

So, I need to break out the soldering iron to get this done.
Not a huge deal, but I would have preferred it to be a screw/bolt on.

Anyone else de-solder the 6 footer and solder in the longer 15 footer?
Or did you just splice that bad boy?

I don't recommend wire nuts. Cell cables handle high currents. Any imperfections in the connection will create a lot of heat, which will destroy the cable and whatever it is attached to after a while. I'd de-solder the old cable and the solder the new one in. But if you want, you can splice the cable, but you need to solder the splice.
