tonight i added cya through a sock and tried to speed up the process by agitating the outside of the sock with my hand for a few minutes. i wasn't touching the granules, but the white powder that was coming of of the sock as it dissolved in the water. i washed off my hands with soap and water afterwards, but my skin still feels kind of sticky. are there any health risks i should be aware of?
any dangers with cya and skin contact?

I have never had any problems or stickiness from brief contact. The MSDS mostly lists irritation as a result of skin contact. Some people might be sensitive to it. I wouldn't be too worried unless you had some sort of persistent irritation.

thank you for the info. my skin doesn't look irritated and doesn't feel as sticky any more so that makes me feel better.
As noted in this paper, CYA has minimal skin absorption. Of course, irritation from chemicals can be a very personal thing. If it happens consistently, then that would be more of a clue -- one time doesn't tell you much.
