Ladder broke and poked a hole in the pool wall. Luckily my dog Maggie was there to stand guard over the water.

This was the 9th season for the pool . I was planning to replace it this fall for next year. I guess I'll go ahead and get something else and not try to patch this one. It's been a good one!!
A buddy at work gave me his 4yr old Intex 16ft round pool. I was going to set it up but decided to buy a larger 18ft'er instead. I used the old pool as a protective mat under the new pool. I had to cut a few relief slashes around the boarder to get the smaller pool to lay flat and provide enough coverage for the larger pool, but it worked out great!

That is a great idea! We have a sand base under our abg and after the really dry season last year our yard had literal splits in the dirt which made ripples in the bottom of the liner.. An extra liner or base would have made it less noticeable and more protected from any rocks that may work their way up through the sand over time.
What a great idea! I have a retired 18' Easy Set that I am looking to get rid of. Now it may have a new fate.
