Should I remove my diving board?

This is the 21st summer with our diving board. The bolts at the back of the top side appear very rusty. They obviously need replacing. Should we go ahead & take off the board & move the base & inspect the mounts as well? Is this a DIY project, or should we call a professional? I don't want that diving board used until I am sure it is safe. If the mounts are rusted/ not safe, I think we will just remove the diving board. The concrete around the pool needs a lot of work.(probably complete tear out & re-do) I would rather wait until we do the concrete work to have the diving board mounts replaced properly, if at all. It will be a couple of years before we can do the concrete work.

If there's more than just minor surface rust, you should remove the base and inspect them well. If they have lost mass you should either remove it or have it replaced.

Home insurance demanded I remove it. Did it right after buying my house.

From general comments here, it seems about 1/3 of home insurance companies will not cover or will charge a lot extra for diving boards, another about 1/3 will not cover pool slides.

I have State Farm Insurance & no problem with diving board.
