help! kid pooped in pool.

I just finished cleaning and testing my pool....

hope i remember right...its been an hour or so but...

FC 3.5
TA 70
CYA 30
pH 7.5


I have no idea why my cya is so low....i just added some last week to get it up to proper levels and i was shocked to see it at 30....we've had rain every day this week, is that causing it?

anywho, the mess is being cleaned out right now and i want to get the shock process started...supposed to have company over tomorrow for a nice swim lol

seeing that my CYA is low what is my target shock level? still 24? I have a saltwater generator

Your shock value is only 12 for cya 30. But shock it at whatever level you added cya for.

well i added cya over a week ago...so it be registering...idk why i'm at 30...so....i'll shock it at 12 and deal with the cya again after the weeks end. thanks woody!

When is it safe to check the FC levels again? about an hour or so? I wanna be sure I get my shock on

Certainly no more than two hours during daylight hours.

so i added 11 cups of 6% bleach around 3pm ...its now 6pm and i just checked it...and my FC is at 6

the 11cups was supposed to shoot it up to around 12...the calculator says i need to add 7 more now to get it from 6 to 12....what should i do?
