leaking pump

I have a power pak 1 pump with a sequel 1 rotary de filter. The pump is leaking...a ton. So I have 2 questions

1. Is it worth trying to repair it?
2. I have an intex (or maybe wet set) 1500 gph catridge filter and pump cromoit previous pool. Could I hook that to my de filter (maybe minus the cartridge?) Until we have a plan of attack.

Can you post a picture of the pump? Can you see where the leak is coming from, and if so, is it a drip or a spray?

I can post a pic tomorrow. It is pouring out really. Only when the pump is on. My husband is pretty handy (mostly why I keep him around! but I fear not having a pump while he is fixing it.
