New Dig in McKinney TX (north of Dallas)

It took longer than expected to pick a builder but finally nailed it down with the guy who actually took the time to educate me on the building of a pool. Jeff at Mirage Custom Pools. Permits went to the city today...fingers crossed on the dig starting soon. Never owned (much less built) a pool so i will be looking for advice from the experts here. It is a chlorine system.

How long is McKinney taking on permits these days?

Not sure. I hear it can be quite the ordeal here in McKinney.

Yes. Thats why I asked actually.
A couple of months ago I was told that McKinney and Cleburne had a moratorium on new pool permits.
Not sure if that is actually true.
We did have decent amount of rainfall and the weather this summer has been quite mild - so hopefully you'll get the permits quickly.

Congrats! Did you get the permits? I am in Denison and in the process of bidding out now. I have 4 bids, but there is a big difference (12K). The low bidder is at 38K and the high bidder is at $50K. What did your bids come in at? We have VERY similar pools specs. I have 16X32 with 3 water features (550 sq ft; 16,000 gallons, 98 linear feet). Equipment is similar. Just trying to see if they are in the ball park. Thanks in advance!

We are starting this process in Prosper, as well. Still negotiating a contract, so not in the permit phase just yet. Builders telling us to plan for 10-14 business days for permits here.

Nice pool, how was it working with your PB? What other companies did you look at?
