Borax and Muriatic Acid shelf life?

I bought a box of Borax and a gallon of muriatic acid today just in case I will need them this Summer. If unopened, will they do me any good next year? Or if opened and partially used?

Pretty sure both will last forever, but wait for more confirmation.

That borax might all clump together if you leave it outside. Take it into a controlled environment and you will be OK. The muriatic is good for whenever you need it.

It will clump with the slightest humidity given enough time, and when it does, it is about impossible to unclump. Trust me, I have tried unclumping with methods I wouldn't suggest to anyone.
