GFI plug on Intex pump submerged

The (unplugged) GFI plug on my pump was submerged overnight and now the pump is not running. The Reset button turns on the indicator light like it should and the Test button does not illuminate the indicator light which is also good. But the pump won't turn on. Will it help if I disassemble the GFI plug and dry it out? Thanks

why dont you try another plug first and make sure its not your pump. then if it's fine, kill the breaker and dry/maybe replace the plug.. I would almost just replace it at that point.

The cord has the GFI on it, so the wall outlet is not the problem. I will try to dry the GFI plug and see it that works. If not I guess I'll have to rewire a new plug on. Thanks!
