My TA is zero???

Have a intex 15 x 42 pool. With the little pool filter system that it comes with.
Had my water tested cause after battleing algae at the opening of the pool it is still cloudy.
Leslie's water analysis report
Free available chlorine. LOW 0
Total available chlorine. LOW 0
Calcium hardness. OK. 200
Cyanuric acid. OK. 60
Total alkalinity. LOW. 0

Any suggestions?
Leslie's suggested ALKALINITY UP 8 - 10 lbs?
Does anyone know if this sounds right or not?

Do you have a measurement on ph? If your TA is really 0 then your ph should be very low (although most tests will only read down to 6.8 ph).

Sorry ph result was 7.2
The sales person said the test equipment they use does not show any alkalinity at all

First welcome to TFP.

Second don't let the pool store test your water.

Third get one of our recommend test kits. The TF 100 is a good one.

Fourth. Read pool school.

What was your PH ? Get some chlorine in there also.

You can raise TA and PH at the same time using Borax. I've never seen a TA of 0.

The sales person said their test only went down to 6 on TA and my sample was below that
Have been adding Chlorine daily. System uses the 1" tabs in the filter. Been adding 4 or 5 daily as they dissolve.
Read pool school and other topics when had an algae issue at start of the season. Was very helpful in clearing up that issue.

If you want to use the BBB method you need to test your own water with one of our test kits. It's all about you taking control of your water chemistry.

Remember the pool store is in business to sell you things you don't need like those pucks. .

If you ph is 7.2 ,your TA can not be close to 0 ppm. As pwrstrk said, pool store results can be very inconsistent. In your case they are obviously wrong. See this link for recommended appropriate test kits: http://www.troublefreepool.com/pool-school/pool_test_kit_comparison

What type and size of pool do you have?
