Iam converting from a Hayward CL 220 to a Hayward SWG. The CL 220's last union (in the direction of water flo) is to close to another PVC fitting to cut the PVC and sleeve. Is there a product designed to slip in line that will attach directly to the old Hayward Unions? Can you buy just a union end from hayward that will tie up to the old CL220 ends?

Will it cause any problems to simply leave an empty CL220 in line?

Thanks for your help.

They do make different types of fittings that you could use to replace the cl220. if you were to post a picture of what you have I could give you some advice. A plumbing supply store would have what you need. No it would not hurt to leave it in either, it might come in useful sometime.
