I accidentally dumped in about three times as much borax as I was supposed to and now my pools ph is over 8.2! Is there any other way to lower ph? Will it go down over time? I don't have any muriatic acid and I really don't want to use anything that strong anyway.

Muriatic acid is the answer. It is used safely by people all the time, even me.

Sorry, muriatic acid is the best, fastest, cheapest way to lower pH. Or dump the water and start over, since the pool isn't that big.

How much borax did you put in? In my experience, it takes one gallon of MA to neutralize two boxes of borax.
