Putting combo Sand & SWG Filter in a Container

I'm thinking about putting the filter (24" x 17") into a large plastic container (35" x 19") to protect it from the elements - including the power cord connections.

My concern is decreasing the air flow to the motor. I've seen several YT videos with various containers for filters, but I'm not sure if they have decreased the life of the motor with less air flow or increased the life due to keeping the filter out of the elements.

The container already has about 20 vent holes that won't let rain in, but I might put more in to get more air flow.

Thoughts/Recommendations?
