I did the over night chlorine test
Last night FC-15, TC-15
Today. FC-10, TC-10

My SWG READS 20% when turned all the way up
6 bags of salt added since opening several weeks ago

Salt reading-6000???
Was 2300 just 2 days ago

Added 2 40lb bags of salt 2 days ago

Could this salt reading be altered since shocking?

My thoughts
Do you think I need to change my sand again?(done last year)
I tried adding a small amount of DE into my skimmer and it temporarily cleared the water
Could the cell SWG need cleaning?
Could I have algae ?

Thank you for any help

No need to change sand.
You have something living in there because you failed the OCLT.
Do you mean you can only turn up your SWG to 20%?!?!
Use pool cal to estimate what all the salt you added did to your pool.

You didn't quit reach your shock target of 24 for a salt pool with CYA of 60ish.

Will try to respond to all questions

SWG knob keeps turning from off to high ....but the light next to 10% then 20% as I keep turning, light up .....but as I turn all the way up it stays lit at 20% :grrrr:

Salt level started at 1200, then 2300 just 2 days ago( after 4 bags of salt)
So I added 2 more bags

My SWG calls for a level of 3000

Yes..... Had SWG on when I shocked( Not thinking) :hammer:

So at this point I will shut down the SWG
and shock again

Any other suggestions?

I thought the SWG was okay to have on while shocking since it helps maintain shock levels longer, you just needed to turn it off to perform the OCLT. Either way you do need to shock, and keep it at shock levels.

Don't need to repeat all tests, just watch chlorine and keep it at or above shock levels. How often to test depends on how fast your losing it...You only lost 5 over night so maybe check every 4 hours. Can go longer if your still at shock levels or check more often if your dropping below shock levels.
