Can I fill my new above ground pool at night. It has a j-hook liner. I've heard mixed reports on this. What are your opinions?

I can only guess your concern is that the liner will not stretch as much at night with no sun?

I am still filling it now. I cranked up the pressure on the well last year so it's filling much faster than I had anticipated. There is about 2' of water and everything looks fine. Air temp was around 70 last night.
Filled without wall buckling. There are few wrinkles above the skimmer though. I waited to install skimmer until the water was about 6" below the cutout.
