Does the cable need to be sealed?

Question related to replacing spa light and cable: Does the cable need to be sealed where it comes thru the spa? I've read a few "how to post" and did not see any mention of sealing the cable. If sealing is needed, what type of sealant do I need to use?

No sealing. Normally the niche is wet and water can get into the pipe behind.
