Barracuda hose weight substitute

Anyone got a suggestion on a quick and dirty way to put together or make a hose weight for the Barracuda? Don't have one and want to get the cleaner going quickly.

Barring that, is there another alternative that will perform the same function?

the hose weight is there to balance out the cleaning head from climbing walls and staying on the walls. you could try reducing the suction to the cleaner so it wont climb the walls to high. best bet it to buy a new weight.
