Zinc Anode

I had muttled around the internet a bit and found that a ZINC annode would be a good addition to my salt water pool.
Apparently this is the sacrificial lamb of metals to help with the corrosive / electrolisys effects of metals in the pool,etc.
Has anyone used this addition to thier system?

Welcome to TFP!

A couple of people on the forum have them, but they aren't common. It is very unusual to need one unless you have aluminum in contact with the water (typically from an automatic cover).
