Pool not up but can't I go ahead & test water with TF kit ?

TF100 kit arrived. Pool is still in box (leveling about to begin).

Any reason I can't go ahead & test water? Instead of going to buy a white 5 gallon bucket, can I test water some other way?

It's city water by the way.....

Just don't bother with the CYA test since there will be none. Otherwise it is always good to know the numbers from your fill water, particularly the pH and the CH

Why do you need a bucket? You can run all the tests with about a cup of water.

I bought a gal. bucket when I first got my pool. I have never used it LOL

I just put my water in a small plastic bottle that is easy to pour into the test tubes.

It is a good idea to "play" with your test kit to get a good feel for it. Plus it is just plain fun!
