I've just been on vacation in Galveston TX, and swimming in the Gulf. A friend of mine claimed a few years back that after his family swam in the gulf, and then came home to swim in his pool, and then they had an outbreak of black algae, culminating in a drain, and acid wash etc.
I've searched around this forum for any similar stories, but found none. I'm considering throwing out, or strong bleaching all swim suits and toys that went in the Gulf, but this seems extreme.
Any truth to his story? Or as reading about black algae in the forum leads me to believe simply poor pool care and low chlorine levels?
Thanks,
Jeremy
