Stickies are special topics on the forum that have been recognized as being important to read. They always appear at the top of the list of topics in each area and also appear in the Stickies section of this site, see the link in my signature and the sub-heading of each page.
The name comes from sticky notes, they are stuck to the top of the list like a sticky note.
