Adding CYA to pool.

Hello ~

I am new to pools. We set the pool up less than a week ago. How should we add the CYA? At the moment we have it in a floater with a sock around the floater. Is this a good way to add it or should we purchase a Intex Krystal Clear Wall-Mounted Pool Surface Skimmer and place the CYA granulas in a nylon sock in that?

How often do most people run their saltwater system and sand pump? We have had to unplug it for a good part of yesterday and last night due to severe storms.

Also, is severe weather or heavy rain a problem for the system?

Welcome!

Bobbing around off a float works. Or hang it from a string in front of the return jet. You just don't want it sitting in the skimmer or the filter or on the floor of the pool.
