pool cleaner for sandy environment

Hi, I live by the beach and we track a lot of sand around which is unavailable. Will an automatic floor cleaning system work or will the sand clog the piping? Thx for suggestions!

Sand is unavoidable? I don't think it'll get caught in PVC pipe...traps are meant to hold stuff whereas the pipes are not designed to do so. Flow rates are high enough to move it right along.

I know my cleaner (in-floor type) really stinks at taking care of sand...but I don't know what kind would be good! Stick around and someone will help.

Aquabot 4WD gets sand. How about a garden hose by the pool?

I doubt the in-floor system will deal with sand very well. However, a robot or auto-vac will handle it very nicely.
