stained liner

Hello, I have a 18x36 in ground vinyl pool in Connecticut with stained liner. I have dropped a few vitamin c tablets on the stain and it dissolves the stain instantly. I have not taken the cover off yet and have not added any chlorine or chemicals yet. Could someone please tell me the correct procedure to remove these stains, as they seam to grow each year. I have a sand filter. Thank you jerrym

Since the stains faded when you applied Vitamin C tabs, they are metal stains. You can perform an Ascorbic Acid treatment which is described here: Ascorbic Acid Treatment
