Goldline Cell high Amps/Salt in reverse polarity mode only?

The cell shuts down due to high amps/salt. Only happens in reverse polarity mode. Normal mode reads a salt level of 2900 and works fine???

The only thing I can think of is that there is short somewhere on the board relay that swaps the leads. The k-1 relay goes bad on a lot on Goldline units so it could be that.
