Hello all,
I took my pool water to my local store and the results showed I needed to add Alkalinity. The reading was 53 and they told me to add 18 pounds. I had thought I had 10 pounds but after adding it I realized it was PH Plus. My PH reading before adding any PH Plus was 8.0.
Please advise on what should I do. My pool has become cloudy.

Start adding muriatic acid 1 quart at a time until your pH gets down into the mid 7's. I have no idea how much that will take because I have no idea of your starting point. Wait 30-60 minutes in between quarts and test each time.

You need to get some acid in there to lower the PH.

It would be a huge help if you had your own test kit. Pool store test results are not all that reliable and you need to make an PH measurement after each adjustment to see if you made the change you were intending to make.
