I'm hoping someone has an idea here while I wait for a chance to contact Tech support.

I purchased a Pentair Warrior SE from Marina pools on 3/18/21. Last night I noticed the cleaner was not functioning properly. I press the power button, the water pump kicks on, the blue LED on the front flashes, the cleaner moves 3 steps back, 2 steps forward, an then the rollers turn off, the blue LED keeps flashing and the water pump stays on for a few more seconds, then all functions turn off. The controller still is lit as normal.

Troubleshooting:
So far I have cleaned the entire robot, basket, filters, check rollers for obstruction. Unplugged for over night and power on again in the morning with same results. Moved to another area of the pool and powered on again. Just for troubleshooting purposes I tested another outlet with same results.

Up until last night, the robot has worked flawlessly.

All suggestions are welcomed.

Might be hair or other items around the pump impeller. Others have seen that as an issue.

Did you contact Marina or Maytronics?

Josh,

When the robot starts up, it goes through a self-test.. That is what the move forward and back is doing and then it does a test of the suction motor.. You should see a little surface water eruption right above the robot.. If it quits, after the self-test, the robot thinks something is wrong..

I too suspect that your suction motor has a clogged impeller.. You can't see it unless you use a screwdriver and take some "plastic" out of the way.. The manual describes exactly what you need to do.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Just checked quickly and the impeller turns freely. No hair nor any other obstructions. Robot is spotless clean. Waiting for an opportunity to call support as I have a conference call shortly.

It looks as if he just unscrewed the motor and then screwed it right back in after jiggling it around. Did I miss something in that video?

I intend to during my lunch here shortly. I just wanted to make certain I did not miss something. Your explanation helped me understand the purpose of the procedure shown in the video.

I have a dolphin s300i that's very similar in design to yours. I just did some motor brushes on the impeller motor and I goofed up with the o ring when reassembling the motor case assembly.

Mine did this same thing you're describing and after opening it I up again I realized water got into the motor box where the circuit board is. I let it air dry over night and I'm using cotton swabs and alcohol to clean the board up but not looking good.

I hope your nearly new unit doesn't have a water leak that may have caused this...

Marina has provided me a return label. They hummed and hawed a bit and from the context of the gentlemen's reply it sounds like they have seen several like this lately. They said not to worry, they would repair or replace.

I just sent an email asking for an update. If I don't hear back I'll give a call tomorrow at noon. I suspect ours came from the same lot. I did not the manufacture date on mine was just over 2 years from the purchase date. May or may not have mattered but just pointing it out.

Many things only come out with new models every 5 years or so. Yard equipment for example. They sit at a dealer sometimes for several years. The purchase date starts the warranty and they shoud last X amount of time from then once they are put into use.

Yes but in that time orings and gaskets are deteriorating. Capacitors can pop and transistors can swell. I am an IT engineer and have seen the far ends of both spectrums. Fact is the unit died in under 6 months with less than 20 uses. What's more troubling is Sunny purchased his same model, from the same dealer, within the same 7 days of my purchase and his unit died within 7 days of mine as well. Speaks for its self but take it for whatever it is worth

Should have it back Thursday

"Hi Josh,
Your cleaner is all fixed and we had it running in the pool the last couple days and it's working great. The problem was the servo motor was seizing up. We replaced the whole motor assembly and that solved the problem.

Thank You,

Margaret Mills"

that's exactly what they told me, so it must be bad batch of motors. I wondered if they replaced it with new motor or refurbished motor ? i never asked.
