I think it is mostly just baking soda and something to raise the pH to counter the acidity of trichlor tablets.

Probably not worth using for most members here.

We generally buy and use only those chemicals that are needed. So if you need to raise the TA, then you get pure baking soda. The clarifier in this specialized Arm & Hammer product is not normally needed. If one maintains the properly FC and CYA levels in their pool, then the pool should remain clear and not need any clarifier, assuming the pool has decent circulation and filtration.
