I need to get set up with a propane supplier so that I can make use of my spa. Can I get some tips on what kind of deal to shoot for? I think there are several options when purchasing, ranging from prepays to buyuing tanks vs. renting, etc? What do you guys do?

I don't use propane to heat my pool, but I do have a 500 gal tank on my property for my house heat and hot water tank. The tank was here when I bought the house, so I stayed with the supplier the previous owner used. The tank says "property of Amerigas" right on it, so I'm assuming it's leased (that discussion never came up with Amerigas, surprisingly).
I've been pretty happy with Amerigas, so if they service your area, I would give them a call. They'll give you your options and prices.
One thing I can recommend: DON'T go with the "lock-in" rate. In the fall, they offered to "lock-in" a rate of $2.19/gal for one year. Even with the crazy price of oil right now, I'm still only paying $1.79/gal (I usually get about 300gal per fillup).

Thanks, I do have an Amerigas supplier around here. I guess I need to see if I can't research the price trend for the last year or so around here to see if the "lock" is worth it.
