Intex Chlorine Generator question

I was wondering if I can disconnect the Chlorine Generator, they told me my chlorine was way to high. I just want to filter it for a while

Can I disconnect the Chlorine Generator and run just the filter? The store told me my chlorine was very high. I got a 91 error code low salt after a while will that break anything?

I just want to disconnect the electrical wire going to the generator not actually take it out.

You can remove it, though it is sometimes tricky (depending on which model you have).

A low salt error will not damage anything, but if the salt gets low enough the unit will stop producing chlorine.
