If you follow the recommendations for closing at the end of the season and open early enough (based on water temp), you should not struggle so much next year.

Thanks. We bought the house in December. The pool was closed by the previous owners and was put away green and full of leaves - about 6 bushels wet. Been running shock level chlorine levels for the past few days to clear up (hopefully) the last remnants of the organics. I should send them the bill for all of the extra chlorine I have had to add!
