Another thru the wall skimmer question

We have the Intex 12x24 Ultra Frame and like everyone else hates the skimmer that came with it. Have a in wall skimmer coming and wonder how do we shut the water off to the pump if we need to for something since we wont have the hand valve anymore like now? Is there something that comes with the skimmer to block the water from draining out the intake hose if need be? Thanks!!!!

My hayward thru the wall skimmer didn't come with anything to block the water,I used the small black rubber plugs that came with pool
inside the skimmer to block the water

Or you can plumb in a "real" valve from Lowes or Home Depot......Look for that hard plumbing an Intex pool thread. Works like a champ.

I still haven't decided yet if I wanna do hard plumbing,but I think I'll have to because the sand filter won't work with thru the wall skimmer
