Yea they could. It is pretty light. I wouldn't worry about a shock or anything though.

I bought one this year as well. I have an above ground pool so I was able to plumb it in so you don't have to mess around with hooking it up to your return. I just have to turn one valve on and close the return valve part way and it's up and running.

Hydro power. Theres a small generator in their that powers a few LED's. Such a simple idea that works great. I wish I would have thought of it

I'm so glad you guys posted these pics! I saw one of these in one of the pool supply catalog and thought it seemed like a good idea, but wondered how it worked (and if the light would be too faint). Your pics tell me that I might have to look into getting on of these!
