Just curious, are these things that much better than other frozen drink makers on the market? They are priced in a way that would indicate they are! I always just assumed they were glorified blenders but seems that everyone that has one loves it. I do understand that they not only have the blender/mixer side but the ice shaver - which definitely seems to be important in making frozen drinks.

So, let's hear it - why do you love your Margaritaville Frozen Concoction Maker? And for those who've used other drink makers, what makes it so much better?

If it would help to have a margarita in hand while answering, by all means, please do! :) It is Friday after all.

I believe it is the single best small appliance I have ever purchased!! I have the DM2000 I think and I just got 2 additional pitchers to make extra drinks! Had mine for 8 years I think and everyone says it makes the best Margaritas they've ever had. Smoothies, Daiquiris and Pina Colada's too! It is one thing I would replace at once if anything should ever happen to it!!

Like mine so much I bought my (legally aged) daughter one for college! All her friends want me to adopt them now!
That Margaritaville Drink Mixer I got for Xmas ain't half bad either. Spin the wheel--------------make a deal!

Oh yeah, my Margaritavlle Party Tub Cooler looks pretty spiffy by the pool as well. Found a bunch of those on ebay down to like $110. NO WAY @ $300 from Jimmy, He's got enuff of my money! (and likely to get some more when his newest casino opens in Shreveport this month).

One suggestion I have for using the ole' concoction maker. Do NOT put large chunks of frozen fruit (in my case strawberries) in there. Chop them up or let them thaw some first. Don't ask me how I know this.

One more suggestion--------make dang sure you put the top back on it before hitting the magic blender take me to Margaritaville button. That took a while to clean up!

The DW wanted one for years and I was resisting for the longest. Last year I finally broke down and got her the DM1000 for her birthday and she was right, it is fantastic. It makes perfect consistency margaritas every time and in record time. I no longer have the fear of blades flying around the kitchen when chopping up the ice cubes. The Shaver/Blender combo works.

I just saw the Margaritaville Mixed Drink machine yesterday at Kohl's. Whoa.... this is just too easy now.

I have one as well and it's great, it's very powerful.
Making drinks is super easy, my only complaint is that the liquids splash up and inside the top part of the unit so you really have to get in there and clean it good. I wish it had some type of mechanism to prevent that splash up.
If you use it alot and don't clean it thoroughly it will be a sticky gross mess in there.

Got the drink mixer-love it as well! But it does kinda turn into a side show when all our guests byob and would probably rather be supplemented with a frozen concoction instead. It makes an appearance at about every 3rd pool party, especially when we have folks show up who are not "regulars" so to speak. The concoction maker and the shot machine service 90% of our needs.
