Shocking process. 2 of three steps

Hello:

had 1ppm change overnight.. water did not turn pink (CC's) but the water is blue but I can just barley see the bottom. It is very cloudy like it needs a clarifier. My questions is is clear meaning totally clear or might this be all the dead algea. I just repalced my cartridge so I was hoping that will help. Continue to shock untill I can see the bottom clearly. Will clarifier help or waste of money.

how long have you been shocking?

Clarifier is one of those things that might work or it might not do anything. I suggest to give it a couple days after passing the FC loss test and the CC test before considering even trying it. However, it won't really hurt anything if you do.

I am in a similar situation.

I know the process can take a long time, from experience, to go from cloudy to clear. Want to try clarifier so I can try to get results, just don't know if it is wise.

I have been shocking 5 days. Let it slip below 12 a few times but have been keeping it up. If it will not hurt anything I might at some to it.
