Intex sand filter, need help removing the impeller

Hello all,

After winter break I tried to start my Intex sand filter. The motor did not start rotating and turning the impeller by hand was not easy. Found out that both motor bearings were stuck beacause of corrosion. I Found rust also on rotor and stator inside the motor.

It would be easy to change the bearings, but the only problem is how to remove the impeller from the shaft to change the front bearing. Anyone have done this? It would be nice to have some advice so that I will not break anything else.

Thanks in advance, Juha

I am not familiar with the Intex motors, so not sure if it is the same or not. On most pool motors I have seen, you have to put a wrench on the shaft to hold if still and use a strap wrench to unscrew the impeller.
